From the Netherlands, this ferry can be reached in 9.5 hours (930 km from the center of the Netherlands), with no intermediate stops. Then you can board in the evening and you will be in Oslo the next day. This crossing is a night crossing where you check in at 9.15 pm and depart at 11.45 pm.

The ferries of DFDS sail daily during the high season. In the winter months the number of sailings is usually limited to about 5 per week.

Check-in closes 45 minutes before departure. From Frederisshavn to Oslo it is at 23:10. On the way back, check-in closes at least 15 minutes before departure. For a relaxed course of the crossing, we recommend that you build in some more space for this.

DFDS advertises itself with a starting price of €35. However, for most travelers this is not a realistic representation of the costs to expect. In practice, a return trip with a family and a car will cost you around €300. This does not include meals and refreshments on board, which will make this amount even higher.
