Batam is the name of the island but also the name of the main city on Batam (Sometimes also called: Batam City) and Batam City also got two harbours: Batam City Harbor and Batam Bay Harbour.

From Tanah Merah to Batam
Two ferry routes reach Batam Island from Tanah Merah. You can either ferry to Nongsa or to Batam City. There is not much difference besides the port of arrival.
Tanah Merah to Batam
Ferry Terminal opening hours:
- Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal: 7:30am – 6:20pm (SG time)
- Harbourfront Ferry Terminal: Open daily: 10:00 am – 10:00 pm (SG time) (Information Counter is located at Level 3 (Near Lift Lobby B, near the main entrance)
- Batam Centre Ferry Terminal: 5am – 8:40pm (IND time)
- Tanjung Pinang Ferry Terminal: 6am – 5pm (IND time)

Ferry to Batam Business Class and VIP Rooms
At Batam Fast Ferries, you were earlier able to book VIP and Business Class tickets, as we can see now. However, there are now only ‘economy' options available. If you seek better tickets, it might be best to contact Batam Fast. (Customer Care: +62 778 321120)
At Horizon Ferries, you can book Economic Tickets, Business Tickets, and VIP tickets. Due to the maintenance of the booking engine, the prices for these tickets are unclear. You can see different images of the VIP tickets and what you get for buying them on the Instagram VIP page of Horizon Ferries.
At this time, there is also no possibility of Sindo Ferry business class, the only class you can select is Economy class.
At Majestic Fast Ferry, all tickets you book are ‘Premium” and more focused on luxury travel. Some vessels seem to have ‘business class and/or VIP cabins'. We found a Video on Youtube about these VIP cabins here, though they might only be bookable by phone or at the harbor:

There is a ferry that also brings you directly from Malaysia (Johor) to Indonesia (Batam). Batam Center Ferry Terminal is the most wheelchair friendly terminal I would go for.
