Eurotunnel Le Shuttle
A popular alternative to the ferry is Le Shuttle. You can drive your car onto the train and travel to France in only 35 minutes. That is about an hour faster than the ferry.
Le Shuttle is the only way to get through the Eurotunnel by car. The other train company, Eurostar, only operates passenger trains. And unfortunately, you can not drive through the tunnel yourself.
Tickets and Booking
Eurotunnel prices vary considerably. Just like with ferries and flights, the prices depend on the popularity of the departure day and -time. We see prices starting at £88 and going up to £202 for a one-way journey with an average-sized car. Usually, you will end up somewhere between these amounts. The ticket price for a vehicle includes (up to) 9 passengers.
