Ferry to Valletta and Catania
Where you used to be able to take the ferry from Valetta (Malta) to Catania (Sicily), there is no longer a direct connection nowadays. But Virtu Ferries have cleverly responded to the needs of travelers by providing a direct bus connection to (and from) the departure port Pozzallo on Sicily.
Thanks to the bus/ferry combination, a good connection has been created between Catania and the capital of Malta. The ferry sails between Malta and Pozzallo in 1 hour and 45 minutes, and the extra travel time by bus is approximately 2.5 hours.
When you are looking for alternative routes, it's best to navigate to our ferry guide: all ferries from Malta to Sicily. In that guide, you can find all the routes leading to Sicily.
