Mallaig-Canna
Several times a week there is a ferry from Calmac to the Isle of Canna. The boat sails via one or more other islands in the area.
Ferry to Canna and Mallaig
The isle of Canna is part of the Small Isles in the Scottish Hebrides. Canna is the furthest from the mainland west of Rum. The ferry from Mallaig to Canna therefore often makes a stopover at Rum, after which the ferry continues to Canna. So you can also take a ferry from Canna to Rum (or vice versa).
- For this crossing, you need to call (or visit) the Calmac office in Mallaig.
- Check-in is 30 minutes prior to departure for vehicles and 20 minutes for foot passengers.
- Vehicles must be in possession of the relevant island permit prior to travel.
Tickets and Booking
Ferry tickets on this route can be booked through Caledonian Macbrayne Ferries. When the ferries depart and what the routes are, very much depends on the season and the crowds. In quieter periods the ferries sometimes make a stopover. The exact itineraries can be found on the CalMac website. Summer timetables will come into effect after March 30th.
