Guadeloupe ⟷ Saint Lucia
- Up to 7,5h
Guadeloupe has a well-developed ferry network with reliable companies that maintain clear websites where you can book tickets. This makes it easy to arrange day trips to the islands belonging to Guadeloupe, such as Marie-Galante, La Désirade, and Terre-de-Bas or Terre-de-Haut in Les Saintes.
In addition to the islands of Guadeloupe, it is also possible to travel south to Dominica, Martinique, and Saint Lucia, which offers great island-hopping opportunities without the need to fly.

We have placed the different routes in an interactive map so you can easily see where the ferries sail and with which company you can book them.
Guadeloupe to Marie-Galante Ferries
A ferry trip to Marie-Galante is a must for anyone visiting Guadeloupe. Often called “the island of a hundred mills”, Marie-Galante is famous for its rolling sugarcane fields, traditional rum distilleries, and pristine beaches that feel far less crowded than the main islands. Within just an hour by ferry, you can experience this authentic and tranquil side of the Caribbean!
You can travel by ferry to Marie-Galante from Guadeloupe, either from Saint-François (with Comadile ferries) or from Pointe-à-Pitre, where you can board a fast ferry operated by FRS Express. It is also possible to sail between Terre-de-Haut and Marie-Galante.

Ferry to Terre-de-Haut and Terre-de-Bas
A ferry trip to Terre-de-Bas and Terre-de-Haut is the perfect way to discover Les Saintes, one of Guadeloupe’s most enchanting archipelagos.
- Terre-de-Haut is the better known of the two, famous for its picture-perfect bay. It’s a wonderful spot to stroll through quaint streets, enjoy fresh seafood, or hike up to Fort Napoléon for sweeping Caribbean views.
- Terre-de-Bas, on the other hand, offers a more tranquil and authentic experience. With lush hiking trails, quiet beaches, and traditional fishing villages, it’s the ideal place for travelers looking to escape the crowds and enjoy a slower pace of island life.
Regular ferries connect both islands to the mainland of Guadeloupe, making it easy to explore them on a day trip or a longer island-hopping adventure.

Ferry to La Désirade
La Désirade is easily reached by ferry from Saint-François in about 45 minutes. The island is around 11 kilometers long and just 2 kilometers wide, with quiet beaches, small fishing villages, and a simple road network that makes it easy to explore by bike or car. Less developed than the other islands of Guadeloupe, La Désirade offers a calm and authentic atmosphere, making it a popular choice for a relaxed day trip.
Island Hopping Beyond Guadeloupe
Finally, we would like to highlight the beautiful route operated by FRS Express des Îles. This fast ferry connects Guadeloupe with several islands to the south. Keep in mind that these are other countries, so you’ll need to have the proper travel documents in order. Still, the ferry offers an excellent opportunity to explore a wider part of the Caribbean. Departing from Pointe-à-Pitre on Guadeloupe’s main island, the route includes stops in Marie-Galante, Dominica, Martinique, and Saint Lucia.
