Get to the Statue of Liberty by ferry
The thing we have to start with in this guide is that there is only one operator on this ferry line. And that is Statue City Cruises. However, many companies out there have additional products and services next to visiting the Statue of Liberty.
GetYourGuide is a website on which you can book these ferries. You can approach Liberty Islands from two ports:
See the map below for the routes:
You won't be visiting the Crown and Pedestal
The Statue of Liberty wasn't made large enough for the people who visit this landmark every day.
Because of that, it's challenging to get tickets for the Pedestal and extremely difficult to get tickets for the crown.
Getting tickets for the crown is more challenging than getting pedestal tickets. You cannot purchase same day tickets for the crown; they must be booked weeks or months in advance. The specific timing for booking depends on the season. To be safe, I suggest booking crown tickets 3 to 4 months ahead if you really want to visit. Only 300 people per day are allowed inside the crown, so spots fill up quickly.
For the pedestal, you can only get same-day tickets in the more calm seasons. You can pre-book them as well through the official website: Pedestal Tickets @ City Experiences
