Puerto Rico has two active ferry routes from the port of Ceiba. One sails to Vieques and one to Culebra. These routes are used daily by both residents and tourists. In addition, there are short commuter ferries across San Juan Bay, connecting Old San Juan to Cataño and Hato Rey.
There are currently no international ferry connections, but a new service between Mayagüez and the Dominican Republic is under development by Balearia Caribbean, with operations expected to begin in late 2025.
