The Caribbean is one of the world’s most popular holiday destinations. Every year, tens of millions of visitors come for the tropical beaches, clear waters, and relaxed island lifestyle. What makes the region especially appealing is the ease of exploring multiple islands in one trip. Whether it’s a short hop to a nearby isle or a longer journey across island groups, island hopping is simple and rewarding here.
An extensive network of ferry services makes traveling between islands both affordable and practical. Many crossings take less than an hour, while others cover longer distances between the larger islands.
To give you a clear overview, we’ve mapped out the ferry routes across the Caribbean. This way, you can easily see the available connections and how the islands are linked.
The interactive map below provides an overview of the current ferry routes in the Caribbean. It is continuously updated and expanded.

About Ferry Services in the Caribbean
Most ferries in the Caribbean are small, fast boats, often operated by local companies or family-run businesses. This gives the crossings a personal and authentic touch, but it also means that reliable information isn’t always easy to find online. Not every operator has a clear or up-to-date website, making booking tickets or checking schedules challenging.
That’s why we aim to gather as much reliable and up-to-date information as possible, so you know exactly where to go when you want to book a ticket or find the latest departure times.
Gaps in the Caribbean Ferry Network
Unfortunately, between some island groups there are currently no active ferry services. In fact, a few routes have disappeared recently, meaning you’ll need to rely on flights for those crossings.
Fortunately, new connections are also being added: for example, a new ferry service between Puerto Rico and the Dominican Republic will launch soon. We’ll add it to the map immediately as soon as it begins operating.
