Ferry to Isla Holbox and Chiquila

Isla Holbox is a little piece of paradise on the Northern tip of the Mexican Peninsula Yucatan. The Yucatan is famous for its many historical sites but also as a beautiful destination for a well-deserved vacation. When flying from abroad to Mexico / Yucatan a lot of tourists will arrive in Cancun. From there you can travel Southwards through Quintana Roo along the Yucatan coastline or travel upwards to Chiquila where you can take the ferry to the amazing Island of Isla Holbox. If you travel directly to Chiquila make sure to bring cash, because ATMs are more offline than online. In Chiquila there aren't too many ATMs which can be the same on Isla Holbox.

Isla Holbox is a beautiful tropical island with miles of snow-white beaches, lots of colorful street art, and a very chill atmosphere, music, bars, and restaurants are everywhere to be found on this majestic Island.

Timetable ferry to Holbox:

The ferry to Holbox sails every 30 minutes from Chiquila to Isla Holbox, starting at 06:00 in the morning and the last ferry sails at 20:30 in the evening. Daily more than 30 ferries sail to the island and back.

Note: I've been on this ferry myself once and we were lucky that someone could lend us money because all the ATMs in the area weren't working and for the ferry, we needed to pay in cash.
