Ferry to Ibiza Map
Ibiza is one of the main ferry destinations in the Balearic Islands, with routes from mainland Spain and short onward crossings to nearby islands. The map above shows how Ibiza connects with ports such as Barcelona, Valencia and Dénia, as well as the quick island link to Formentera.
For most travellers, the route choice depends on where the journey starts. Dénia is often the practical option from the Costa Blanca, while Barcelona and Valencia are better suited to longer crossings with a car, campervan or more luggage. If you are heading to Formentera, Ibiza is usually the natural gateway.

Choosing the right ferry to Ibiza
The best ferry to Ibiza depends on whether you want the quickest crossing, the easiest mainland departure or the most comfortable option with a vehicle. A short route from Dénia feels very different from a longer crossing from Barcelona or Valencia, especially if you book a cabin or travel overnight.
| Route type | Typical route | Best for |
|---|---|---|
| Fast mainland route | Dénia – Ibiza | Travellers coming from the Costa Blanca who want to reach Ibiza quickly. |
| Longer mainland crossing | Barcelona or Valencia – Ibiza | Cars, campervans, cabins, overnight options and travellers starting further north or inland. |
| Island connection | Ibiza – Formentera | Reaching Formentera or combining two Balearic islands in one trip. |
Ibiza ferry ports and onward travel
When booking a ferry to Ibiza, check the arrival port carefully. Many ferries arrive in or near Ibiza Town, while some services may use San Antonio on the west side of the island. That difference matters if you have already arranged a hotel, rental car or transfer.
Do not choose only by crossing time. For Ibiza, the best route also depends on your arrival port, whether you bring a vehicle, and whether the ferry is just a transfer or part of the travel day.
- Travelling with a car: book early in peak season, as vehicle space is more limited than foot-passenger space.
- Travelling without a car: check how easy it is to get from the arrival port to your accommodation.
- Heading to Formentera: many travellers arrive in Ibiza first and then take the short ferry across to Formentera.
