Finnlines is a Finnish-based shipping company that operates routes from various ports in Finland to cities in the Baltic Sea, including destinations such as Germany, Sweden, Finland, and the Åland Islands.
The fleet of Finnlines comprises 8 vessels. Among them, MS Finnstar, Finnmaid, and Finnlady operate between Helsinki and Travemünde, while Finnfellow and Finnswan connect Naantali with Kapellskär. The Malmö to Travemünde route is served by Finnpartner, Finntrader, and Europalink.
The history of Finnlines dates back to 1947 when it became a subsidiary of Merivienti Oy. The maiden voyage of the first Finnlines ferry, MS Finntrader, took place in 1951. Over the following two years, three more ferries joined the fleet. In 1962, Finnlines established its first passenger connection between Finland and Germany, leading to the introduction of more routes connecting Finland, Germany, and Sweden.
